In Brief

After TELG successfully argued that the agency had failed to make available certain witnesses for deposition and properly produce its agency investigative file, TELG client Mark Joyce was able to reach a favorable settlement with the agency that included an offer to return to work as an Officer.

Summary of Filed Complaint

TELG client Mark Joyce came to TELG when he was denied promotions on six separate occasions.  Mr. Joyce believed that these rejections were attributable to his age.

What Happened in Court

At the time of litigation, Joyce was 50 years old and had worked for the Secret Service for approximately 25 years. He received a number of Letters of Commendation and positive reviews from his superiors.  Unfortunately, he had been denied promotions on no less than six occasions and believed that these denials were related to his age.  With the help of TELG, Mr. Joyce was able to reach a favorable settlement with the agency that resulted in him being offered an Officer position at DHS.
