Whistleblower Donna Nichols will receive 20 percent of nearly $300,000 repaid to taxpayers in the U.S. government’s settlement of fraud claims against a Florida sleep-disorder clinic that was accused of pretending to diagnose sleep problems with equipment that was either broken or non-existent — and of hiring local strippers to work, without formal training, as sleep technicians.  The case was brought as a qui tam action under the False Claims Act.
