Ms. Angel and Ms. Natal alleged that the defendants had billed Medicare for services supposedly performed by approved physical therapists — even though the therapy actually was conducted by staff members whose work was not reimbursable by the government program. TELG worked closely with the government to secure a settlement to repay tax payers and reached separate agreements to address Ms. Angel’s and Ms. Natal’s claims that they were fired after reporting the alleged fraud.
