William Lambdin
Chief Operating Officer
William Lambdin is chief operating officer of The Employment Law Group® law firm, overseeing the firm’s technology, support, facilities, and human resources functions. He is responsible for maintaining and improving day-to-day operations at TELG, providing a solid foundation for the firm’s legal efforts.
Mr. Lambdin received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Richmond, where he also studied computer science and focused on applied mathematical programming and coding theory. He began his career as a technical specialist more than 10 years ago at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, a major global law firm. Since then, he has immersed himself in the field of legal technology and served on the board of the D.C. chapter of the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists.
Mr. Lambdin joined TELG as its legal technology administrator in 2013. Over time he has expanded his purview at the firm, building intake systems and developing workflows to boost capacity and improve the handling of complex tasks. His management responsibilities have grown to include the firm’s team of project assistants, who help attorneys and law clerks throughout the litigation process, as well as its I.T. and facilities operations and, since 2023, its H.R. function.
He also manages the consultants who support the firm’s internal computer network and employees’ use of TELG-provided hardware and software.
Mr. Lambdin’s experience at a big law firm has helped him to upgrade TELG’s capabilities and approach so that its attorneys can represent clients on an equal footing with their deep-pocketed employers. During the lifespan of a case, many documents flow in and out of TELG systems in a process that can require filtering, extraction, digitization, categorization, archiving, and tracking – all while preserving each file’s integrity to allow its reliable use in litigation.
Mr. Lambdin and his teams manage this sophisticated flow of information, training attorneys and law clerks on best practices for handling and reviewing documents. He works directly with individual attorneys on action plans for large or complex deliverables.
In 2021, Mr. Lambdin played an instrumental role in the firm’s move to its new headquarters on K Street in Washington, D.C., after first helping to establish a fully remote workforce in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Employment Law Group now operates a flexible workplace model: Some employees work completely from home, while others take advantage of the firm’s shared office spaces and services via simple, Web-based tools that are maintained by Mr. Lambdin’s team.
Mr. Lambdin lives in Baltimore, where he spends his free time with his wife, children, and dogs.
